Cytoarchitectonics of Area Striata in the Korean Cerebral Hemisphere.

Abstract
|
|
|
Author studied on the cytoarchitectonics of the cerebral cortex in the Area striata of the 95 ( (5 54, 9 41) Korean brains and summerized the results as follows:
1. The thickness of the cerebral cortex in the area striata aeveloped fully at age of 610 years and its average value o. the adult brain was 1.87mm in male and 1.85mm in female.
It increased until the female brain got 1100g weight and the male brain 1300g. weight, thereafter it was not related with brain weight.
2. The relative neuron density decreased to the average value of the adult at age of 2-5 years of male and 6-10 years of female, thereafter it had no remarkable change.
It decreased to the average value of the adult when the brain weight was 700-900g, thereafter it had no recognizable change.
3. The relative filial density decreased to the average value of the adult at age of 2-5 years as the neuron density did, thereafter it had no distinct change.
It decreased to the average value of the adult when the brain weight was 900-1099g, after that it had a tendency to increase corresponding with increasing of brain weight.
The differences of the relative glial density in the infant and adult brains were very slight and its variations in each cortical layer were not distinct.
4. It was impossible to recognize the sex difference and right-left-difference.
